has been established under the aegis of Symbiosis International
University. (established under section 3 of UGC Act 1956, vide
notification no. F 9 - 12/2001-U3 of the Government of India.)

These programs are aimed at creating professionals who can
contribute to the highly dynamic and competitive world of
Design.
The curriculum at SID offers an optimum mix of traditional
skills, new media skills (with state of the art software) and
soft skills.
The approach here is entirely project based. SID puts high
emphasis on evaluating the students on the basis of continuous
performance and projects.

Bachelor of Design in Communication
Design (80 Seats) |

The Communication Design program applies
human-centered methods to the creation of new
communications, including interactive,
electronic and print publications, information
systems, software, animation, Web services, and
other media. Students explore how people send,
receive, analyze, share and interact with
information and rich media, and the influences
of new technologies on how people can, should
and do communicate. |

Bachelor of Design in Product Design (60
Seats) |
 |
The Product Design program focuses on physical
products and environments. With the underlying
goal of maximizing user experience, the program
emphasizes both appearance and performance, and
explores issues of material and form,
manufacturing, interaction, embedded computing,
and product life cycles. Students are encouraged
to go beyond designing an individual product, to
designing holistic systems of products and
environments that work together to meet user
needs. |

Bachelor of Design in Fashion
Communication (30 Seats) |
 |
Fashion Communication is a new but very exciting
field that has opened up in the fashion
industry. In today's scene of extremely fast
developments in the fashion industry, many
Indian brands are competing with international
brands. This has opened up tremendous
possibilities for a designer of fashion
communication, who will work on design
strategies, brands, portfolios etc. He / she
will also work on areas such as visual
merchandising, styling, graphic design, display
and exhibit design, advertising, public
relations, and creative writing. The students
passing out, will have high level skill and
domain knowledge, and emerge as professionals
who offer the extremely effective communication
solutions for the fashion and lifestyle
industry. |

Bachelor of Design in Fashion Design (60
Seats) |
 |
This program provides you with practical and
theoretical understanding of contemporary
fashion design for the market. Balancing
conceptual, technical and fashion design skills,
the program develops creative knowledge of the
design process and an understanding of garment
construction and manufacturing in women's wear,
men's wear and children's wear. The application
of textiles and the ability to identify
contemporary social and fashion trends,
technical and manufacturing systems is also
explored. You will be guided by the exploration
of design principles; the ability to evaluate
mood, silhouette, fabric and colour; and
technical application and innovation.
Graduates will be able to develop their
positions as contemporary and creative fashion
designers, working as strategic team members,
leaders, and independent designers or in many of
the specialized areas within the fashion
industry.

INTERNATIONAL CANDIDATES ARE NOT REQUIRED TO
APPEAR FOR SET (FOR DESIGN). THEIR ADMISSION
WILL SOLELY BE ON THE BASIS OF THEIR PORTFOLIO
AND ON INFORMATION PROVIDED IN THE SID
APPLICATION FORM AVAILABLE WITH SID PROSPECTUS.
